Pablo Zuleta Zahr was born in Viña Del mar, Chile in 1978. After studying a few years of architecture he moved to Germany to study photography in the well renowned Dusseldorf Art Academy and became a master student of the influential artist Thomas Ruff in 2006. Ever since, he has lived in Berlin, working mainly in photography and videos that focus on sociological issues and exploring the ways we deal with photography in our globalized world. Pablo Zuleta Zahr uses photography as a way to document a tangible intervention in a public space or in a particular social group. Politics, history, and poetry are often mixed in his work and presented in such a way that whatever is “Reality” remains unclear. The photography medium is used to crystallize and distillate few aspects of reality but lets them appear as some Real Fiction.
