The Serie Blackspace deals in a very simple and literal way with the semantics of the word photography. Which in Greek means drawing with light.

These pieces are modern ‘photograms’ or ‘scannograms” done analog with primary photographic filters. Drawing, cutting and rearranging them so they Don’t let light get through, (the addition of the three primary colors magenta yellow and cyan makes black), except on the areas that have been cut letting the different filters mix the colors. They are mounted on a backlit screen and presented as light drawings.

Surface etymology is photo- + -graph, together meaning “drawing with light” or “representation by means of lines”, “drawing”. From φωτός (phōtós, “(genitive) of light”), and γράφω (gráphō, “I write”).
